I would like to see more sample scripts with an in debt explaination in the Autohotkey Script Showcase page. In each line of code or syntax, it would be extremely helpful to explain what the line of code is doing. Sometimes when you know too much about a subject, something might seem very logical to you might not be so easily for others too understand. If you can, please try to explain what each syntax is trying to do. I see this forum as a learning tool compliment to my course I take at school. Thank You so much.

It's up to the author of the script how many comments to put in. Hopefully, your suggestion will encourage more comments in the future, though it's probably unreasonable to expect every line to have a comment.

You've probably already seen the Tutorial. An additional way to learn is to look at the examples included in the help file, which are usually explained or easy to understand.

Lastly, I do plan to enhance the tutorial with more sections and examples. I would also like to do the Overview: "An overview of AutoHotkey's commands and features presented in summary fashion to make learning it less of an exercise in browsing the entire help file." If anyone wishes to help with either of these projects, I'd welcome it.

What IMHO is very helpfull in such a case is the use of Rajats (?) AHK Help in any Editor script. You can take/select any AHK command within a line of code, and with a single HotKey action it'll open the assigned AHK help page 8)

So a fast line by line code review shouldn't be a problem.

OTOH - Chris, Rajat - the above mentioned script isn't working if used directly on the forum

the above mentioned script isn't working if used directly on the forum

For it to work in a non-Edit control, first highlight the word, then press the hotkey, and the help file appears at the right command (at least it does for me).

though the initial code was mine, the credit for the present code (the form its taken now) goes to Chris, so he's in the better position to answer questions relating to it.
