Aaron's Super Google
version 1.1.0.0

System Requirements:
Windows XP, Vista or 7 (32 or 64-bit)

Download latest version:
Aaron's Super Google.exe (recommended, contains all needed files)
Aaron's Super Google.ahk (needs associated files to run, unzip contents to script directory)

Information:
- press one of the following buttons and it sends your search terms:

Google Local search
Google Maps search (takes you to the map)
Google Definitions search
Google "Faces Only" search (filters out everything but faces)
Google Earth search (Google Earth Gallery)
News Search (13 different news sites global)
Facebook search (with Google)
YouTube video search
The Pirate Bay search (arranges results by number of seeds)

and...

Multi-Google search functions (search from multiple Googles
from around the world arranged by country's starting letter)

WORKS WITH:
Mozilla Firefox (works best)
Internet Explorer versions 7, 8, and above

"KIND OF" WORKS WITH:
Netscape Navigator (this browser ONLY works if it is kept open while searching. If you use Aaron's Super Google while this one is closed, it will open up multiple windows instead of tabs)
Opera (arrow buttons for tabs navigation are not supported)
Google Chrome (arrow buttons for tabs navigation are not supported)

DOES NOT WORK WITH:
Apple Safari (will crash Aaron's Super Google Search)
Internet Explorer version 6 and older (will not support multiple tabs)

NOTE: The instructions page is not done yet! there are still some minor inconsistencies in descriptions of a few things. Also, Flash objects on webpages disables the arrow browsing buttons on the GUI on every browser except Internet Explorer. So I've included the option to disable Flash from playing while News Search button is being used by Firefox or
Chrome (lots of news sites have flash).

Woops! I think I'd better include a screenshot:
Posted Image
It docks to the bottom of the screen, on the top edge of the taskbar in the center.
The Hal9000 pictures are animated gifs which are actually animated.
Let me know any ideas I can integrate into this thing, I'm open to suggestions :)

Looks great! I need to try this out. I like the GUI. (Did someone say AniGif + WinSet?)

Thank you, Nimda, yes I sure did use AniGIF! Here's a good time to thank those who provided ideas and helped me in more than a few ways... thanks to all of you, very much!
And because I'm not sure how to properly share just the script and its associated files, please feel free to decompile this thing if you are curious.

You know, since the windows text to speech is so terrible, I would add an option to turn it off.

good idea... I would have done that by now but I don't know how. I don't know where to read the solution. I realize now that with a slow internet connection, the speech takes too long and it slows it all up.
Do you know how to do this? I'd really appreciate your input. I know it should be like a toggle button, or a set of 2 radio buttons (sound on and sound off) or a checkbox... when checked, sound is on and when unchecked, it is off.

It is not actually "Windows speech"... it sends what the user types in the input box (as a variable) as a string to Google Translate, online. Then Google Translate makes a download link for a small (7 to 10 kb) English speech mp3 of the text. I then used "UrlDownloadToFile" to download that Mp3 to a temp folder, then "SoundPlay" to play it. then that mp3 gets deleted after it is played.
I thought this would be nice for XP users as they would otherwise be stuck with Microsoft Sam or something lol

This is very nice.

I would like to being able to click and drag the Gui somewhere else on the screen.

I would like to be able to turn off the tooltip.

thanks

Datalife, this was one of my very first scripts :) thank you for reminding me about it.
I need to remove some things and make some things better. It has too many "toys" in it (voice, tooltips, etc)
and I can make things like tooltips optional.

Since that time, I have learned very much... I will use my newer skills to rebuild this, then I will re-post it when I am finished.

Thank you for the comments, those are great suggestions :)

Please check again in a few days?

Hey dude, why does that lady keep saying to me "Hello giant dick" every time I start this program? :?
Pretty work though, how did you do the multi-threading part? I thought AHK doesn't support that!

Uh Oh! ok before I laugh really really really loud and for a looong time, I need to mention something:

The script detects your User Profile (or Account) Name, from your computer, and uses that in the "Welcome" speech.
For example, it says "Welcome, Aaron" to me. If your Account Name is "John", it would say "Welcome, John".

Now that simply means your Account Name is "Giant Dick"...

:D

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "multithreading"... tell me more about that?

Hehe.. I just noticed the username, I thought you were messing with people and first time I heard her I was like

As for multi-threading, I'm not sure if it's the case here, AHK doesn't support it yet, but its about those two car signal like pictures on the sides that dim and brighten up again, they keep doing so even if you trigger the script menu!
I like it, that's why I asked about it, I would like to have a throbber on one of my GUIs even when I trigger a menu.

That would be here: http://www.autohotke...pic.php?t=19264

It's two animated GIFs. The above topic decribes how to make them work... these two are
"Hal 9000" which was a retro evil spaceship computer on the movie
"2001 A Space Odyssey".

An interesting side-note to that... shift up one letter for each of the
letters in HAL... and you have IBM.

I was being cheeky when I included two HAL 9000 eyes in a Google engine lol :D

I know! me neither!! I think I blew a nad by the time I was finished laughing.
I did not ever intend for anyone to be offended... oh my goodness I'm laughing again!
Poor Nazzal needs to change the User name on his machine to something different.

Nazzal, do you have an ex-girlfriend who was mad? That might explain the
"Giant Dick" thing... she might have changed the account User Name when
you were not looking?

I would like to have a throbber on one of my GUIs even when I trigger a menu.

HAHAHHAHAHAAAAHAHA a "throbber" :D

Thank you for making me smile today Nazzal, you're awesome!
Please don't think anyone's laughing at you... it was only a strange
couple of things in a row that turned out very very funny.
