WYSIWYG BBCode Editor

Bye Bye BBCode!
If you live on this forum, or you are an occasional forum-er - this is for you!

Forget all those BBCode tags and the messy output. Forget the hard time you had after formating and previewing the post, then going back to find a small detail you needed to change - what you see is what you get!

You can just type and format your post message in this editor, and when it looks good, just Ctrl+Enter* or hit Generate BBCode (you can use the many keyboard shortcuts also). Whats more, you can edit your old posts also; just copy-paste your old bbcode into the lower editing window and hit Load BBCode!

And whats more, its free!

I ran it on XP SP3, it looks fine here. Are you running the source AHK script? If so, what version of AHK_L are you using?

could you try changing line 13 in .\inc\functions.ahk like this
[color=red]-[/color] icon_$%iIcon%$ := IL_ADD(hIL, A_LoopFileFullPath,0xFFFFFF,1)
[color=green]+[/color] icon_$%iIcon%$ := IL_ADD(hIL, A_LoopFileFullPath,0x0,1)

Otherwise, i'll just change the icons and release it. I could not reproduce the error. The error is only for PNG images, not for bitmap images, so maybe i'll convert them to bmp

Edit: I tried it myself (changed 0xFFFFFF ie white to 0x0, black, for transparent color). For me, on both XP and Win7, this also shows up correctly. Hence I am uploading this version. Please re-download. Please give feedback if it is working. Thanks

My Idea
Add smilies from external links.
You have these already in there:
[*:2xagd2f7]:) :lol: :( :wink: :O But you should also allow a text file of links to other smilies that will be linked to. Examples:
[*:2xagd2f7]Posted Image Posted Image Maybe you can find better ones

Nice program! Obviously this post was made with it. Another idea would be a default font size. Its not really clear what number is default...

Wow. :shock:

That's a fullfledged perfectly usable piece of software we're talking here. Awesome job.

One question: Are there any additional hotkeys? We ARE talking about an Autohotkey script after all. For example, is there such a thing as a code-tag hotkey? Or insert image? Additional smileys would be cool

Also thinking of the possibilities to make this editor default for myBB fields, somehow. Alternatively simplifying or modifying its' ability to type-on-the-go. If there was something like a Ctrl+Enter -> Paste BBcode instantly and close down application, I would for sure include it in my Applauncher. The license seems permittable enough for me, so I'll see if I find time to mod it.

Anyway, props for a great piece of software, I hope it gets the recognition it deserves.

Very nice!

It would be even better with some subsilver css, to fit these forums. Btw, I think you might need to add ahk_class AutoHotkeyGUI to your hotkeys so that it doesn't interfere with our browser hotkeys while we're viewing this thread. ;)

Nice ideas. I have added them to my to-do list. Thanks for feedback

@jballi, tank, sumon: thanks for your encouragement.

One question: Are there any additional hotkeys? We ARE talking about an Autohotkey script after all. For example, is there such a thing as a code-tag hotkey? Or insert image?

See the main menu-bar items to discover hotkeys. I'll add documentation in the future. BTW, Insert Code hotkey is F9, Insert Image is Ctrl+Alt+I.

It would be even better with some subsilver css

The Code and Quote already use the subSilver.css styling, I just added the quote marks to make it more prominent. The stylesheet is at .\res\style.css

I think you might need to add ahk_class AutoHotkeyGUI to your hotkeys so that it doesn't interfere with our browser hotkeys while we're viewing this thread.

Thanks for pointing that out - i missed that. I'll make changes and re-upload.
