AutoHotkey can certainly do a lot. I've been using it for some time now and it still surprises me with things I have not known to exist.
The list of planned features contains things soon to come. One of the greatness of AutoHotkey is that it's constant improving and expanding. You can suggest features in the Wish List section too.
Aswell as the help file, learning from other code examples is a great way to enhance your coding abilities and understanding. The Scripts & Functions section is like a resevoir of amazing scripts so it's worth taking a look; my personal AutoHotkey-related website also contains some of my top apps.
Make sure to tell your friends about AutoHotkey so they can join in the fun

Did you read the whole file :shock:i have read the help file
I would say, with reading the help file, you get knowledge, with practising you get more skilled. Just try something out of what you've read in the help file, and so on.still have limited skill
Have a look around in AHK forum as well. You're not supposed to understand everything from the first time. I don't myself.

My suggestion would be to pick something that you would like to do as a project then try and figure out how to accomplish the bits and pieces that make up the project.
When you hit a task that you're not sure how to accomplish, try searching the help file for ideas on ways to accomplish the goal using AHK code only. If you don't see what you're looking for then try searching the forum for ideas. If that doesn't work maybe there's a workaround by using an external method that can be run by AHK using Run/RunWait/DllCall, etc... that you can use instead. If you have trouble finding an AHK only solution and/or the solution seems inefficient, overly complicated, etc... then asking for help in the forum may result in other alternatives.
Although reading the help file from start to finish definitely won't hurt (...which is something that I haven't done BTW. I just search for specifics when/if I need to and/or for the proper syntax to use for various commands
), I'd say it's easier to learn by trial (and error)...

(Just to fullfill my position as the "bad guy") It needs no skill to create a subject line which contains more then one word (to be correct AHK, isn't really a word - its AFAIK an abbreviation, an attitude, a way of life ). So do it. AHKionize your carputer!!! Good luck. 8)i have read the help file and still have limited skill
