phpBB is very strange in using "British English" by default...I suggest installing the...
American English
...language pack & making it the default
optionally, deleting the "British English" language  , once done.

...that's cuz you are in the UK...I'm not...I don't like the coloI think British English is fine.
Can you please at least install it...even if it's not the default...& even if you don't like it?
...yes, I realize the flame war potential...& I also understand, that the world don't speak "American" -- but I do -- & I'd like it, at least, installed, so I can choose it. While he's at it, perhaps he can install Swedish? (lol, see what I did there?)British english > American english. Discuss!

I don't see any practical benefit of installing American English, I'm sure the difference goes unnoticed by nearly all of our American visitors.
Also when it comes to rewriting the documentation I will most likely be using British English there anyway.

No need for swedish of course, but I do understand why Americans would prefer American English. I have the impression GB English is proper for international usage though.

Honestly, I could care less which version of English is installed, as long as it is English and not something I have no hope of understanding

OMG
and why not australian english for Lexikos ?... Seriously, gogogo to "simple english" if they are a choice to do and they are better thing to think at this moment, we don't need an hegemony for this forum, however british english is more adapted for an european language (as sumon said), I guess that to pick EN-US looks like a familiar language or less polite than EN-UK ( greek/latin synonyme war ? )...
But I don't care, allez vous faire voire avec votre langage de bouseux.

I've tried to resist posting, but now I have failed.
Please don't judge all Americans ( A term which I dislike, the U.S. isn't ALL that is American. There are many countries in North and South America, many of which do not speak English as their native language) based on this request.
"I am an American and I demand American English"
Get over it.

There's nothing wrong with this idea. Since English is the universal language
but this would be difficult with Swedish customers..

Is there any issue to installing other language packs in general? Are there customizations that are language specific that would get broken?
I'd like to have the option for German as well. 4-7 languages would cover the preferences for 90+% of the users who want to switch.
