I just like to say that I Lex does decide to branch of and admin AHK_L from another site that I will follow him to the ends of the earth. Yes the documentation for L is slightly lacking in some areas (IMO) and implementation of objects and classes is a little odd comparitively but at least he has contibuted substantially to AHK and the community. I'd say that for all the complications that _L brings, it is far outweighed by the good it has done in not only keeping AHK alive but in AHK's functionality.
If you'd like to see _L continue, either as a seperate branch or the main fork of AHK, speak up. I personally don't use most of _L's advanced functionality (classes and such) but it does seem to be the fork that would be most deserving of advancement simply due to unicode support not to mention built in COM support.
That said, Poly has also contributed TONS to the community and I'm sure his intentions are impecible but to be so rigid in not wanting to work with the community and instead by himself (as far as I can tell) is dissappointing. I wish you nothing but the best Poly but I really hope you are willing to comprimise in YOUR position on the future of AHK as I'm of the feeling that it should be up to the community rather than a single person.
To all the new and old AHKer's out there, now is the time to speak your mind and at least give your thoughts on what the future of AHK should be or where it should go.
I think the best of both worlds is the best solution. Merge _L with Poly's ideas. Both have merit. If there are backward compatibilty issues than I'm sure (based on my previous experience with this forum and it's users) that creating a section of the forum for people to post scripts that need to be updated to avoid conflict and having forum users help would be the best approach. I for one would be glad to help anyone who is struggling to update to the newer versions of AHK as I'm sure a TON of others would be.
Thanks for reading. It's only my opinion.

If you'd like to see _L continue, either as a seperate branch or the main fork of AHK, speak up.
Separate branch on a different site, or atleast a sub-forum/site.
actually, ahkl does have an official site. Lex just never advertised it so no one knows it exists. So if you want to see the main download as AHKL, go to the download page of AHKL!
Although, it's nice to atleast mention other branches on the download page, and Poly has done that.
Ahkl is a separate branch. it was made by a random AHK user, not the main dev or someone appointed by a main dev.
Just like many other languages, there are branches. each branch has its own site. I have yet to see any other language that has alternate branches to remove the original version from the download page and use a branch as the main download. Why should AHK?
Sure AHK (basic) is dead, atleast for now. but from what I've heard, Poly plans on starting it up again. so maybe in 1 or 2 or 8 months (or more) AHK (basic) will have just as much features (maybe this is why Lex is gone. helping poly merge the 2?).
And eventually v2 will replace ahkl. If ahk (basic) hasn't been updated in a year or so, i'd then say use v2 as the main download. assuming v2 is ready by then. but not _L. It's kindof an alpha version of v2, IMO.
Note: I got nothing against Lexikos (yes, it's a K, not a C) or AHK_L or Polyethene. I got 3 main branches (ahk, v2, _L) installed but use AHK Basic 97% of the time.

I intend to continue working on AutoHotkey_L whenever it interests me, regardless of what happens with the website. However, I expect the website and community will affect my level of motivation and the direction in which I take the project.
If something has my interest, I tend to spend the majority of my free time on it at the expense of my other hobbies. It just so happened that at the time of polyethene’s takeover, something other than AutoHotkey had my interest. This has happened several times since I started the project, and is probably the main reason for my recent “absence” from the forums.
So I think I speak for many here when I say that I'm quite relieved and thankful towards both Lexikos and polyethene for the responsibility they took on and magnanimous contributions to the community both have made.
