Users still do not have the ability to search for specific characters on the forum.
If I tried to search for gdi+ then I assume it is trying to search for gdi%2B
Probably a simple urldecode is needed. It's just one line....please can this be fixed.....It's been ages....

+1 I agree on this.
The new search isn't really better than the old one. It also ignores some words if it thinks they're too short or common (e.g. "COM"). This is very annoying.

This isn't something I think is worth fixing myself, but you could report it to the phpBB bug tracker and see if they can fix it for the next release.
In the mean time I will put a Google search box on the forum search page, Google has about 40% of the forum pages indexed.

it ignores "script" and "menu" and others too, its ridiculous

Arg.....The search is useless now! When searching you would expect the posts to be in reverse chronological order. I can no longer help with image related topics at all...
