Hello :) ,

When posting comments in the forum, I frequently use a numbering format which includes a number followed by a right parenthesis:

1)
2)
3)
...and so forth.

In a couple of recent posts, in which I had greater than seven items to number, I discovered that one of the emoticons ["Cool"] 8) is represented by the characters "8)" :? . That surprised :O and even shocked  me but also caused me to chuckle.

I'm posting this now to find out if it is possible  to represent that particular emoticon with different characters. :?:

If it is not :( (possible), I suppose I will have to alter my numbering convention  which, although not the worst thing that's ever happened to me  , would require me to stay on my toes  since I generally use the same convention in my personal work and in other forums. I realize that it is possible to disable the emoticons but I think they are a good feature in a forum and I enjoy using them :D , albeit not quite to this extent.

Thanks :!:

If you use "8)" you can get "8)" without disabling all smilies 8)
but that could require even more fancy footwork.

+1 to changing it

I type 8 [ i ] [ / i ] ), just because it's faster.

edit: I might have to change that. It seems the new forum software strips out "redundant" bbcodes. :(

i typically add a space (just to item 8 ) or disable smilies for the post if my list is getting that long.

Also, i try not to make lists that long. it gets harder to keep track of everything after 3 (though i know how much you like learning this stuff dsavant :))

I found a solution for the tag removing issue: just use the [s] tag. Example: 8) 8) 8) 8)

If you really need numbered lists, use
:
[*:1zw2gftx]A
[*:1zw2gftx]B

It appears that 8-) and 8) were the same emotes, so the latter has been removed.
