The previous to last post was a good describtion. But I don't know a solution yet. I hope Laszlo will find this post, he has done some good scripts in this context. You may want to contact him directly via PM or ask him to have a look at this topic. Yes, I've seen some really mind-boggling keyboard...

I'm not using ES. I just asked, because I wrote a big script package for someone who is doing transscripts as a service for doctors. The whole process of doing the transscript, but also of distibuting it to the typists, editors, printers. As well as the process of proofreading/editing and batch pri...

I want to type modifier keys and key combos without taking my fingers off the home row. It's faster that way. It's also less stressful on the hands. RSI is a major occupational hazard in my industry, and MTs get paid on production. Every time I take my fingers off the home row or, goddess forbid, re...

First, my apolgies for showing up here as "Guest" again. For some reason, I lost my auto login here and didn't notice until after I posted. [Although I haven't fully tested it, I believe the following is an easier way: j & k::ToolTip %A_ThisHotkey% ; Make "j" a prefix key. * ...

Okay, I know absolutely nothing about coding, and very little yet about AHk, although I would sure like to have AHk on Linux. Someone did just point me at this project over at SourceForce, which seems to be an implementation of the sort of low-level keyboard interception that would be necessary to m...

One problem is that it would require the mouse hook, which can lead to cursor lag under certain heavy-load conditions. So perhap a mouse-click should reset hotstrings only when the mouse hook is installed. Everything in life is always a trade-off, so it makes sense to have reset on mousing as optio...

It appears that AHk automatically resets the hotstring recognizer when you navigate away from your current forcus using the arrow keys, page up, page down, home or end, but does not do so if you switch focus with the mouse.

Is there any way to add a reset when a mouse click occurs?

Harrie, I actually can repeat the problem if I concentrate on really, really speed typing. I'm just not naturally quite as fast a typist as you and some other MTs are. It is a real issue, though, and I will be interested to hear what happens when you play around with some of Laszlo's suggested setti...

For any of you who aren't speed typists, the issue here is clearly one of typing speed versus AHk's response time. The numbers that cause the expansion to mess up are the ones typed by the left hand; in other words, this happens when typing alternate keystrokes (colon and the numeral) with opposite ...

Laszlo, again I cannot thank you enough! It took very little time to work my way through your great sample code, and below is the completed script, which has all the bells and whistles barring working out a method to check for that trailing space on an IT expansion. For the moment, I have stuck in a...

Lawdy, Miz Mawdy, you make it all look s-o-o-o easy! And so fast!! That is just beautiful, and we can't thank you enough. You write such beautiful, logical, compact code as well. I can't begin to do anything like that, but I know just enough to appreciate good work when I see it. :D Once we ...

While we're waiting to see if Laszlo is willing to do CPR on that horse, here is my small contribution to the thread. I may not be able to write code, but I'm pretty good at doing mindless scut work. This is Laszlo's last script version expanded to include all the punctuation marks. Maybe it w...

I just spent a lot of time working with someone else's idea of how to program this working entirely with Input, only to be defeated by bizarre deletion errors when backspacing and making corrections to words typed before the period and when arrowing up and making corrections/insertions in the line a...
