I am having the same problem, also running avg. Here is my workaround: From the command-line: "c:\Program Files\AutoHotkey\Compiler\Ahk2Exe.exe" /in MyScript.ahk /out MyScript.xxx rename MyScript.xxx MyScript.exe This trick does not work from the GUI, since the GUI always appends .exe
