Turns out the conflict wasn't with EditPad Pro at all, but with Agynamix Simidude, a cross-platform clipboard sharing utility. When Simidude wasn't running, the script and EP Pro ran fine. No errors at all. But this is good news. With any luck this post will also make it on to Google and someone won...

I just found out my installed version of EditPad Pro can't open or save files if I have my favorite AHK script running. So now I'd like to have the script quit if it sees an EditPad Pro window active or shaded whether it (the script) is already running, or if I start it with an EditPad Pro window op...
