There were no scripts running, but ahk.exe WAS running as a process for some reason. Closed that and all was well. The first time that has happened, so I'll need to investigate.

After successful installation ahk:exe is no longer running as a process.

Thanks

Not sure if it's the right thread, but I get an error message when installing an AHK udate, as follows: --------------------------- AutoHotkey 1.0.46.09 Setup --------------------------- Error opening file for writing: C:\Program Files\AutoHotkey\AutoHotkey.exe Click Abort to stop the installation, ...

Toralf,

Thanks for your quick reply. It is fine as far as it goes, but not being able to find the toolbar file, I can't yet add it as an external application.

What is its name?

Some help needed! I have PSPad version: 4.5.2 (2241) and AutoHotkey 104608 so I think I am up-to-date. I have just downloaded Install_AHK_for_PSPad_v2.zip, extracted the files to C\:Temp and made what seemed to be a good default installation from there. However I can't access the toolbar, because Al...

Hi,

I think the solution is to look for the hidden window you want and then use WinShow. That has worked for me.

Thanks to all of you for your contributions. In spite of all my efforts the ahk sound codes still do not work. However I am now convinced that the problem is in my system - just might be that "unknown" Realtek device, although it seems unlikely. I'll get that fixed somehow So let's move on...

My apaologies for not giving enough info. Of course I checked that no Ahk script was running, especially as the message was that autohotkey.exe couldn't be replaced. But, as today I can't reproduce the messsage even though it had happened at least 4 times before, and no one else seems to have this p...

You specically say that it is not necessary to uninstall the old version, but I have to to uninstall the old version AND reboot before reinstalling.

It is almost certainly my system (SP2), but has anyone any idea why?

toralf, The two possibilities in English would be: Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices and Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Mananger>Sound, video and game controllers, but I can see nothing relevant in either. Phil.ho has said that you can set the sound codes directly, but I have had to ask h...

phil.ho I had no idea that the codes (ie *32, etc) could be set. I cannot see anything relevant in Sound & Audio Devices of the Control Panel. Nor have I found anything with Google, two good Win XP books of mine, nor in Windows Help. Many thanks for the suggestion , but please elaborate a bit I ...

Toralf asked me for the URL for the AutoIt Script Editor. It seems to have a lot of things in it, but I'm no expert - it is certainly more than a "Glorified Text Editor", but of course it may not work too well. As for the text file I don't see the way to send a private message, so I'll jus...

toralt & Phil.ho 1. The email notification is working today - it must have been a glitch. 2. Autoit3's download page is http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/downloads.php 3. You have to download and install autoit3 first. 4. The IDE is called AutoIt Script Editor. 5. As for the AutoDebug help fil...

Toralf, First I thought that I had to start DebudView from inside the script. That at least is sorted out. I have a very simple script (BeepTest.ahk), which I use as its name implies. It used to work, but now only the recently added wav file does. They are not important commands in themselves, but I...

Toralf,

I didn't get an email notification for your last message and my mail seems to be working fine. Is there anything I can do about it?

In any case the AutoIt server seems to be down, so I have mada a stickie to remind me.
