I appreciate the suggestions. I gather I have the "ControlSend" command correct. What I am finding is that the Office Communicator software will not accept keystroke if minimized. Worse, it won't even accept them if the chat window doesn't have focus. I run the script, and as long as the w...

All: Our company is using a new IM client (Microsoft Office Communicator) that times out chats after 15 minutes of inactivity, requiring a new chat room to be started. This is VERY inconvenient because our chat rooms often have over 10 attendees. So I am trying to write AHK script that sends a times...

All: I appreciate your patience - I know it sounds like I don't read the help or search the forum, but I assure you I do. I'm writing a password update script to log into a BUNCH of nodes, and update our password that expires every 30 days. The script has it's own GUI to prompt me for user/pass I wi...

All: I've posted much the same topic previously, but now I've a better handle on ControlSend - and I still cannot get it to work with my terminal emulator window. Here is an example line I'm using. I've used many variations of this as well as SetTitleMatchMode: SetTitleMatchMode,2 ControlSend,,This...

Depending on what you need it for, "Expect* is a pretty good automation tool for communications. http://expect.nist.gov/ Some of the folks here have got it to do some desktop interactive stuff, but that's not it's primary purpose. But it's pretty flexible nonetheless. It may be what you need. -tb2

The question of emulators is moot. I got Hummingbird shoved down my throat, like it or not. No other emulators allowed. I used to use KEA -next generation XTALK - and could program it to peel a bananna if you laid it on your monitor. The point is - I'm stuck with Hummingbird, and can't even use run-...

Interesting.... VERY interesting. But, to be honest, I'd was hoping to control the whole thing from a single source. With AHK - I've got a one text file with all the nodes I wish to execute the commands on. Another text file with the file containing the commands I wish to execute. Compile the AHK pu...
