If you are still using Windows XP (and there's about 30% chance you are) you might find this useful.
This shell extension adds 3 more columns in the details view - file extension, shortcut target path and URL.
For Windows 2000/XP (32 / 64-bit): Installer+source code
If you used File Extension Column you can remove it.

Instead of making new thread, I'll post this here.
Navigation Pane XP is Windows Explorer add-on that automatically opens Favorites or Folders pane on the left, saving you one tedious click every time.
This is essentially just like Vista/7.
Optionally, it keeps keyboard focus on the file list so you can navigate files uninterrupted (hold SHIFT key to switch focus to the side pane when clicking).
