I seem to remember seeing a paypal button where we could donate to Chris, but now i can't find it...

I want to donate as soon as i find it, and i suggest others who enjoy AHK do the same!

I've been wondering...
Is it worth donating to AHK anymore? Chris said he has no interest in AHK (currently).
Sure AHK is still helpful, but Chris doesn't really want donations (I assume since he refuses to put up donate button on the site). He just wants a big fat thank-you .

Money isn't a motivation to keep him working, and he doesn't really want donations as a thanks. He's often said stuff like "Knowing I could help someone is worth more then money.". So should donations go to AHK_L? How accepting is Lexikos of donations?

If Chris needs/wants $$ to keep this forum & site rolling, he could easily ask for support when that time comes.

Ps: These thoughts are gathered from what I understand. They may be completely wrong, sorry for putting words into anybodies mouth if they are false statements.

Interesting,, the two donate links above lead to different e-mails, is that right?

one leads to support@autohotkey.com and the other leads to ahk@tampabay.rr.com.

support@autohotkey.com is the one that Chris has posted up before, so I would use that one if you wish to donate (It is also the official email address to contact Chris about AutoHotkey).
I'm not saying that ahk@tampabay.rr.com is wrong, because SKAN posted it, who is a long established member of this community and I would be surprised if he posted a link which isn't real/going to a different person. Maybe Chris has used this one in the past (maybe he even works for RoadRunner news?).

I picked that URL from the signature of user: brotherS...
.. and here was Mr.Chris' confirmation: http://www.autohotkey.com/forum/viewtop ... 7829#97829
When I posted, the date difference was around two months, but is outdated by now. I have edited my post.

I had myself registered in our forum only after I upgraded to broadband.
Before that, I was in dial-up and AutoHotkey Yahoo group was the way for me to get notifications.
Here is the first mail I received from the said email. ( Before that it was a different mail id ).

Here are the changes:

Fixed the Input command to properly capture keystrokes sent by a hotkey or
hotstring for which the user is physically holding down SHIFT, CTRL, ALT, or
WIN. [thanks wildfire]

Changed "GuiControl, Text" to set the text of a ComboBox's Edit control
rather than new choices for its drop-list. Please update your scripts
accordingly.

Improved FileMoveDir with an option to unconditionally overwrite the target
folder.

Added built-in function IsLabel(), which verifies that a label exists before
you Gosub it. [thanks Tekl]

Added built-in function OnMessage(), which can receive custom messages and
monitor system messages.

Added a WinLIRC client script that responds to signals from a hand-held
remote control. WinLIRC is an open-source utility that captures infrared
signals from virtually any brand of remote control. Configuring AutoHotkey
to use WinLIRC is described at
http://www.autohotkey.com/docs/scripts/WinLIRC.htm

Is there a specific link to donate that isn't 3 years old? I'd like to donate but want to make sure it's going to Chris. I know he isn't developing things anymore, but it's his work that I want to support. No offense to L or anything, but I don't really use the L version yet.

You can see from the WhoIs lookup on autohotkey.com that Chris's official email address is support@autohotkey.com

http://whois.domaintools.com/autohotkey.com

I think it's pretty safe to say that donations sent to support@autohotkey.com are going to reach Chris.

I took SKAN's advice and emailed him. He said to just paypal him through the support@autohotkey.com email address.
