Hello Rajat! Your software really makes gui creating easy! its great! i liked it!

but i have a serious problem with smart gui over my windows xp,it always get frozen and not responding when i integrate it with any file menu,if its loading a picture/saving gui to file/loading scripts/and any other file getting into and out of smart gui to my computer,otherwise everything works smooth,only when i try to do any file opening/saving Menus smart gui always become not responding,and freezing itself up! i dunno what to do,its like using a limited demo..
i need to recreate my gui everytime from scratch since its gets stuck like this..
Rajat please fix this bug! and thank you for a great software as this one. ^^

can you please post an exact step-by-step procedure to recreate that error? i've not encountered this untill now and nobody else reported something similar.

Sure!
its easy to recreate it,since it happens every time after i start it. ^^;
1) i open the smart gui.exe ~ nothing happens yet.
2) creating some gui,buttons and everything works 100% no problem. (sometimes it may happen even if the gui board is empty,and i just load an image..)
3)clicking on image button,to create a background for the gui.
Open File menu appears,no problem yet,clicking on a file. problem occurs after a delay of 2seconds hovering a file name,or menu active in that time right when trying to select a folder or a file,smart gui gets frozen/not responding.
* i use task manager to end task smart gui.exe, and repeats from scratch step 1 and 2.
4)after recreating the step1&2,i try to save the gui now instead,save box appears no problem yet,choosing "Save Gui To File",clicking ok,file save menu appears,trying to click on save,but menu gets frozen,and again smart gui get stuck.. :S
same with load,every time that smart gui tries to access my computer to save/load files it gets frozen..
however when i do "test script" it opens Notepad with the script and nothing bad happens to smart gui..
so i dunno what exactly the problem comes from,is it works for others the same?
also i downloaded version4 just as you said to be the latest.. i thought maybe an update would fix it,but it came to the point that both versions had the same problem.

also,any further details required?
if there are tell me,i will write them down.

i've been trying to recreate the problem you described by various combinations of actions you suggested. but this never happened on my pc, can anybody else recreate this on another system?
if not, then its probably a local problem.

though i'd lost interest in taking this project further... today i made some changes to the code to take this further... there's high chance that i might continue and develop it more.

toralf, though i'm making changes to my version... i'll try to make sure that they're easy to implement in yours ... that is if you plan to work on it. can we discuss this privately if you are interested?

cuz my windows does not support 16bit applications for some reason..
it could be something else too,if u say it isnt a problem on urs it must be over mine,but i dunno how to solve it if its my comp.. lol
i guess i will be using notepad for it.. xD

although,
i will be glad if you were added an HTML file loading similar to image loading or a "Drag & Drop" function in it,so you can just drag a file into gui creator and it will automate it to be in the gui grid just like it was opened via the menu..
both functions are awesome addition to this little helper of yours. ^^

if you can assist on my current gui,then read the following.
what i look for now,is to use a gui window that shows inside a local html file as the menu,and that file links into external ACTIVEX controls for a game,its login account shortcut instead of entering the website,i wanted to have a small gui i can open that shows just the login menu of the site,which i found to make it work via html code,now i need to put the file inside an gui window,but dunno how.. xD
so i hope that someone do able to help on this too.. ^^;
as far as i know html embedding is popular here,so i was searching,and not much were matching my local html idea,there was more answers on loading websites by URL in IE controler of the gui..
so i look for a local html file embedding not via URL..
i tried lil' builder too,but i got stuck on how to open the ahk in exe form.. xD i do allot of beginner mistakes here eh? sigh

html / IE control is supported in lil builder. but the project is half-way from complete.
I'm supporting that nowadays.
its not that u're missing something, it still doesn't export a gui you make. but i'm working on that.

Hey can you please change the Save to Clipboard feature so it leaves a return character, rather than a box-return symbol thingy.

i paste the code in pspad and have never faced that problem.

used to be TextPad, now its PSPad. i'm quite satisfied.
