I really don't see that this is an AHK issue. Best method is to copy them to your local machine and then search them there. For this, you need POP or IMAP.

POP appears to be a for-pay thing with Yahoo (http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/o ... op-35.html): I suggest migrating to a properly free service like Gmail.

Howevver, these guys claim to do it for free. Your mileage may vary. http://ypopsemail.com/

Whether you want to stay with Yahoo and pay the money, or migrate to gmail, you will then end up with a POP account.

Get a nice mailreader (thunderbird), add all accounts (setting them, if you want, to "leave a copy on the server" so that you don't delete them from your yahoo inbox), wait while it downloads all your mail, and then follow the instructions here to search: http://www.cit.cornell.edu/email/thunde ... earch.html

Hope that helped.

I agree with Dewi Morgan, Thunderbird is a good e-mail client combine it with the webmail extension (http://webmail.mozdev.org/) and you can download from multiple webmail services. Of course also from POP3 and IMAP :)

From the looks of it, it doesn't. Wow, that's sexy! This could mean I could even maintain a stupid hotmail account without it expiring after a couple of weeks!

The webmail extension has built in POP3, SMTP and IMAP server. This functions as the gateway to the supported webmail sites. Webmail then access the webmail sites via http as if it were you clicking around.

Been using it for my hotmail for a few years already. Works like a charm.

Foxmail homesite (China)

Foxmail alternative download location

By default the Foxmail interface is in chinese. To use Foxmail in english just go into the installation directory and delete the Chinese.lgb file

It has a Foxmail-Hotmail proxy server, that supports Hotmail and Yahoo. You can add Google as a normal e-mail account.

No IMAP, but it has a built-in SMTP server, and offers everything else you expect from an e-mail client.

and... It uses little memory (~ 3 - 5 MB, Thunderbird uses 20 MB at least). Thunderbird is ~ 32 MB on disk, Foxmail ~ 14.
