I'm very surprised that there is no Spanish and/or Portuguese translation of the AutoHotkey files. There is French, German, Russian, and Japanese...but no Spanish or Portuguese. I find this surprising because of the number of people and the number of countries that speak Spanish and Portuguese (Less for Portuguese, but Brazil is huge).

I would help, but I'm not a native speaker of those languages and only began to study them. I'm mentioning it, because it seemed odd to me.

What do you guys think about this?

And Basque? :-)
Well, such task is a lot of work, and since most people coming there can read English, they probably don't feel the need to make a translation.
The fact that the doc. is huge and extensive is quite intimidating too... :-)

Something that could be done, too, is to provide a way to localize the AutoHotkey interface (context menu, windows...), using text files.
It has been done for SciTE, for example, and it works quite well, that's not too hard to do - the resources and internal strings are hardcoded in English; strings goes through a function call that translate them if needed, interface is translated on the fly.
Perhaps someday I will take a look at this.

I've proposed (ages ago) that AHK's inital Web page can/should be translated to whatever language just do provide a kinda "business card".

I agree that it is a tough challenge to translate the complete Command Reference. IMHO it makes sense if someone creates a separate forum (like we did for German Users) using his/her native language. So if it comes to specific AHK issues which aren't clear enough if discussed in english they can discuss it in their "home zone" in detail. Nonsense?

I know Portuguese, but I can badly complete my own projects, not counting school projects which just drive me crazy... :(

My mother language is the portuguese, obviously that we understand the english (the majority of the words), but, reading this in english is a little bit hard. Hard programs like this are very difficult to understand, translating all this words, when we come back to the work we don't know what we are doing.
Sorry about my english but it's what i have.
Goodbye,
Bruno

@ Bruno
Have you seen my statement from last year?

Indeed, we'd appreciate if you (and other people who'd like to see that AHK will be translated to the portuguese language) start with what I've proposed. That project shouldn't be to tough, and could attract more portuguese speaking people to join the community. :D
