Tired of WINDOWS? Try KimOS !
(Freeware Autohotkey script)
-------------
- KimOS 4.0 QUICK START GUIDE -

Hello, i'm am KIM, and if you are tired of Windows shortcuts...
then you can install my "micro" OS (Kim O.S.)

I sweat that will make your life easy and if you start use it,
you then cant live without it!

- QUICK SETUP -

..KimOS shows and hides itself just pressing ESC key...basically it contextually does lots of functions with ESC key... stop the execution of current routine, hides KimOS, show Kimos, shows KimOS over current window or behind it, skips MSN Messenger loading or Reloading, resurrect (shows) KimOS from being iconized or hidden...

EVERYTHING WITH A SINGLE KEY !

Easy setup:

1) Make the directory C:BACKUP, copy into it the file BAKUPPER.EXE

2) Make these directories into your second drive or partition D:
PHOTO, DATA, TEXT, MEDIA, MUSIC, DOWNLOADS, OFFICEDOCS. If you have C: only, make them on C: but
then you will need to make some modifications on the script, later.
(basically, change the paths D: into C:...easy! eg: D:Data will be C:data )

3) copy the file SHOW.SCF into C:

4) copy the file TODO.DOC into D:/officedocs/

5) edit the script, changing the word USER with your actual windows user

6) edit the script, changing the word USERNAME and PASSWORD, with your
favorite sites, username and passwords

7) inside the script, you will find useful examples on auto-login scripts
for several websites, change timing and pointing by your needs!

8) Copy KIMOS or a shortcut of it into your WINDOWS STARTUP DIRECTORY,
(start "all programs" / startup) so it is runned automatically when windows starts....
...... ENJOY!!!!

Features:

Its time to clean up your windows desktop with all the rubbish...
You can semplify your life with this versatle script!

and ICONIZE IT, for best results, remove automatic MESSENGER startup with windows,

KimOS 4.0, features BAKUPPER 1.2 (freeware)

- Automagically backups and restore with a click:

- Outlook Express MAILS
- Outlook Express ADDRESS BOOK
- MY DOCUMENTS folder
- Mozilla Firefox Bookmarks, Favorites and settings

A command line interface, tells when the BACKUP-RESTORE BEGINS and closes when the copy ENDS.

Easy setup 1, 2, 3:

1) Make directory C:Backup
3) Rename into script, word "USER" with your corrent windows USER name.
2) Copy the compiled Bakupper.exe into C:Backup, or just run Bakupper.ahk

RESTORE OR BACKUP WITH A CLICK!

Then you can easily save your documents, mail and settings on a CD or a PENDRIVE, copying the folder BACKUP on it!

Enjoy!

Kim

I would regroup the several "easy setups" in a user-friendly script.

Btw: what does this tool do except running shortcuts? I.e. running Notepad is a one-line-shot...

- Ejects and injects trays..
- Automates shutdown
- Change screen size
- Backups and restores favorites, documents, emails and settings
- Replaces Windows "Search"

and yes... several shortcuts too...
