Im just looking for a good picture editor... Crop... insert... animate ect...
Any one know of a good free one?

Yeah, Gimp is what I was gonna say. I've been using it for months, though, and I still don't know where everything is. Still, nothing else (free) even comes close to that kind of functionality. And personally, yeah, I'd choose it over photoshop if photoshop were free.

Vista's version of mspaint has improved somewhat, so I'm using it a little more.
For web optimization and basic filters I use Irfanview.
For pixel-by-pixel editing, manual anti-aliasing, combining images, and advanced filters I'm using GIMP Portable from portableapps.com.

Actually Gimp can animate stuff...but I don't remember how.
Well, you have to have a bunch of different layers (of course) and it's some options or something when you save it as a gif image.

There's probably some easier way using a tool made specifically for that type of thing, but if you're gonna use the Gimp, try this. Somebody even posted a youtube video on the subject, but I didn't watch it. (I'm still on dialup.)

Animation with GIMP. It's just simple layering, save as a .gif file... presto animated pic
