I like it pretty well so far. I'm using it right now, and I can see that it has some features already being implemented in Firefox and IE.

Looks like we have a new opponent in BWII (browser wars 2) :P
It was a bold move for Google. If only they had chose the Gecko engine I would probably consider using it now.

Ah, looks interesting. I will probably stick to Firefox though—I love all of my extensions too much.

Eww D:

Here's what I wrote in response to this article describing Chrome's lack of the Google Toolbar:

I wrote:
I was so excited when I saw that Google had made its own browser! I almost uninstalled Firefox immediately, but after trying it out… I was flabbergasted that the toolbar was not there; I was assuming it would be completely built in! That is truly what breaks it for me, as I need my custom searches and AutoFill. Once they implement the toolbar, as I’m sure they will soon, I’ll switch over—but I’ll miss my Firefox extensions… AdBlock Plus, PicLens, Undo Closed Tab (Google only stores three, and you have to open a new tab to get to them instead of having a button conveniently located), but most of all GreaseMonkey… Hopefully they’ll implement some sort of JavaScript thing of their own!

However, after I wrote this, someone else commented that he had heard Google had not planned to release Chrome until the weekend—so perhaps the Google Toolbar for Chrome has just not been released yet.

I downloaded it to give it a try. First thoughts... Lightning fast! :!: I don't use many plug-ins so if I can get most of my comfort items (bookmarks, ad-blocking, etc.) working, it might become my primary browser in the future. I doubt it but who knows...

The primary reason for Chrome's speed is the Google V8 JavaScript Engine. It's open source so I see other vendors benefiting from it. Who knows, they might just use it outright!

The problem of today is that everybody can write article and post an opinion after spending 2 minutes working on topic.

Why the hell do you need google toolbar in Chrome, when you can set up your search engine in options and type search phrase directly on url line ?

Why the hell would it use Gecko engine ?!

Comparison with IE ?
IE is not even a browser as it doesn't follow the standard. Its like saying a byycicle is a car because you can drive it on the road.

From the several hours of using it, it seems to be very different then all shitty browsers we have so far. Resizable edits in html, Ajax URL line, tabs in separate threads so that bad page can kill only that tab, etc...

Sigh....

Unlike IE8, Chrome doesn't pass acid2.

FYI, This is a beta, not an actual release  , so if you see something you don't like i'm sure this will be fixed in the near future.
