Comparison with IE ?
IE is not even a browser as it doesn't follow the standard. Its like saying a byycicle is a car because you can drive it on the road.
 get real

actually its not
its an aplication with a browser control
i got the impression that its supposed to be alot morea simple browser and better control of the browser object
but the argument that IE is in and of itself not a browser is true but it does use a browser perhaps anonymous statement is a bit strong but still somewhat accurate. I for one will continue using ie for quite a while

If you want to get technical here the "browser control" is actually called Trident. Internet Explorer is the flagship application that uses the Trident engine which you are familiar with though COM. Firefox, Flock, Netscape and others are based on Gecko while Safari, Konquer and Chrome use Webkit. Of course each browser application modify the engine to suit their needs.

This relates to my earlier statement - if Chrome used Gecko I could port my favorite Firefox plugins: Adblock Plus, NoScript, Web Developer, Firebug and others.

Interesting quote...

your search engine is google, your mail is google mail, your docs are on google docs, your maps are google, the ads you see are google, your system is Android, your browser is Google Chrome. Did someone hear the word "monopoly" ?

Just downloaded it. It's pretty cool.
Just found a very interesting feature:

Quote:
You've gone incognito. Pages you view in this window won't appear in your browser history or search history, and they won't leave other traces, like cookies, on your computer after you close the incognito window. Any files you download or bookmarks you create will be preserved, however.

Going incognito doesn't affect the behavior of other people, servers, or software. Be wary of:
Websites that collect or share information about you
Internet service providers or employers that track the pages you visit
Malicious software that tracks your keystrokes in exchange for free smileys
Surveillance by secret agents
People standing behind you
Learn more about incognito browsing.

In order to keep things simple for our users, we try to use the same set of legal terms (our Universal Terms of Service) for many of our products. Sometimes, as in the case of Google Chrome, this means that the legal terms for a specific product may include terms that don’t apply well to the use of that product. We are working quickly to remove language from Section 11 of the current Google Chrome terms of service. This change will apply retroactively to all users who have downloaded Google Chrome.

Why the hell do you need google toolbar in Chrome, when you can set up your search engine in options and type search phrase directly on url line ?

Google Toolbar has many other functions besides a simple search bar.

Why the hell would it use Gecko engine ?!

As Titan said, so it would be more compatible with the plethora of add-ons that are available for Firefox. However, the current engine seems marvelously fast, so I'm not complaining :D

you can search using any engine you like
the new address bar mixes site specific search wiht the google live search and its best guesses at variations to a url that your typing
and yes autofill is built in as well

Where might I find this feature?

And I know the address bar does have some site-specific searching, but I don't like it nearly as much as Google Toolbar's.
