Hi all!

I have an interesting problem with my HP media centre remote (RC6, express card format) which was supplied with my HP notebook. Most keys work in WMC vista but I want to use it for other applications as well and remap some of the keys.

The problem is that it is a HID device and I don't know which (hot)keys are activated by pressing a button on the remote. For example when I press "stop" I want Media Player Classic to stop.

But how can I program the script if I don't know which (keyboard)key is activated by the remote? Is there a learn function in autohotkey or plugin which identifies the specific commands?

So. hopefully you guys can help me out here. I did search the forum and the internet but I couldn't find the solution.

Tips or comments are welcome!

Ewoud

You can use the AutoScriptWriter (Recorder) to figure it out. If that doesn't work, then you should probably read further down below in the posts of the people that know a lot more about it than me.

I reprogrammed my Cyberlink remote control in a way similar to what you seem to look for. It now works for Winamp, Media Player Classic and Windows Media Center, depending on which program is active or running in the background.
You should take a look at Micha's thread and his DLL:
http://www.autohotkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6367

Maybe my script helps you. It includes the remote control code and more:
http://www.autohotkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=237776

The code for the remote control is in the files MS_RemoteControl.ahk and MS_RemoteButtons.ahk. It only works with Micha's DLL in the same folder.

Good luck!
