use the panic shortcut, you shouldnt have to restart.

Control + alt + shift + G would bring u back to the desktop.

The code is a one shot code by the way, you always have to generate a new one before you lock it again.
i know i did this =]

it should work with windows vista, no guarantees. I've been busy working with security upgrades to my software at work, which of course i will include in swisskey :D. In the meantime there are no current updates. Look for one within a month.

The code is in the first post of this thread (good practice). Copy/Paste as Swisskey.ahk. You may compile it in executable form using Ahk2Exe, distributed with the AHK package.

thanks for the quick reply. I totally appreciate the feedback.

tom

p.s. when you do get time ... would you care to clear up a queston for me:

1. how would one create a backup of the key on the usb (to store away after each use) so that if something happens to the usb device it would be possible to still access the pc? simple copy & paste to another usb device or what about having swisskey ask if you want to save the key to one or two usb devices?

don't get me wrong i don't want it so that both have to be there to access the pc. I just feel that it is a necessary percussion to have an extra usb device (with a key) hid away just in case. i actually had a usb device get broken in the past and lost everything.

thanks again fantastic program!

Not sure if I have an old version, but this only blanks my first monitor & I can't get it to unlock for the life of me - I put a USB Key in, right click go to generate swisskey - hit OK. Nothing seems to happen, but I assume it did it. I lock the screen, unplug and replug usb key... doesn't unlock... I must use the panic key (thank goodness for that!) Anything I'm doing wrong?

Steps are as follows:
Start up swisskey,
Plug in usb drive (Program detects its plugged in)
Generate Swisskey(Program will tell you when you have a successful swisskey)
lock and enjoy :)
