UPDATED VERSION HERE
http://www.autohotkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=49246

IT WAS UPDATED DUE TO TERMINATING FIREFOX'S PRIMARY WINDOW. THERE WERE POPUPS THAT POPPED UNDER THAT TRICKED THE SCRIPT AND KILLED ALL WINDOWS. GRRRR! I HATE THEM!

Is there a reason why you indent your code when you are not starting a new section or block?

This link serves as a good test bench as it produces 10 popup windows in a couple of seconds.... and my script stops them all.

Just make sure the script is running as popups occur instantly on entry and exit of the page.

Why should i use an external popup-blocker for Firefox?
The built-in popup-blocker works very well,
i get no popups on the demo-site you posted with my unmodified Firefox.

Hi Z_Gecko, yes that is true!

But for example could you try this site with and without my script and tell me what you get?

http://www.searchftps.com/indexer/search.aspx ...and for it to take effect click 3 times on a blank area within the page and a popup should appear then it will pop under.

Works for me everytime ;)

Cannot test, as I am currently at work, but does it recognise when I "Open a New Window"?

Also, what about the occasional pop-ups that I do want?

There appears to be no way of white-listing?

It looks like a good hard/fast script for blocking everything though.

^^^^^^^^
^UPDATED^ 24/9/09 - full credits to doyle for this idea
*Now with added toggling feature so you can still allow the wanted popups within pages - read the full details within the script.

When I test against the 2nd website provided above, it attempts to close my main window and leaves the popup open.

Since I usually run with several tabs open in Firefox [v3.5.3], it asks if I want to close all tabs or cancel;
It won't let me cancel (endless loop)... I have to either let it close all the tabs or exit out of your popup blocker.

Hmmm! I'm intrigued in your results SoggyDog. I used this as my test bench for weeks and my script never faulted for days, and you've seen something I was getting during my scripts R&D days.

What OS are you running on and what is the build of your PC? Not that this should matter but just curious.

I havent had this happen to me yet so if you're keen to mod my script please do so and touch base with me for an update, would be much appreciated.
