Is it possible to enable or disable the bluetooth and wifi adapters in Pocket PCs (Windows Mobile devices)

Believe it or not, I have an old PPC that I use as a speedometer in my car (my real speedometer is broke and to expensive to fix). I use the PPC with a bluetooth GPS that I've had for a while along with some software (GPS SpeedSentry) to help me watch my speed. Unfortunately, the phone is old and so the batter life on it is terrible. So when my car sits over night it doesn't charge the phone. So, everytime I start my car up, the phone has to start up too. The bluetooth adapter is switched off and I would like for it to automatically come on. Can anyone help?

The Wifi is a seperate deal, but is also for a PPC.

Did you post in the wrong forum? Or ...

Are you looking for an AHK solution?

Try this link.
http://www.autohotkey.com/forum/topic8600.html

Also search for Bluetooth on the forum.
There are close to 90 posts on the topic.
They might address your needs.

Also try searching for the phrase "HID".
Human Interface Device

Be WARNED! This is not a topic for the squeemish.

Nope... I'm in the right spot. I need a solution

I've looked at this topic before. From what I can tell, this is only to control a PC from a bluetooth phone. Not what I'm looking for. I just want to be able to turn on and off the bluetooth and wifi adapters on windows mobile phone. I'm not looking to send commands.

I searched for bluetooth in the forum. I did see the 2 pages of topics, but nothing about what I'm looking for.

I'll have to look this up, but I don't think I'll do better since I didn't find anything with the word "bluetooth"

Is it really going to be that bad to just turn on and off an adapter?

Clarify what you mean by enable or turn on/off an adapter.

Do you mean remote activation of your mobile phone from your PC??

Do you mean using SMS to activate your mobile phone?

Even though the link I gave you is for Mobile Pnone to PC.
The communication process is the same.
The AHK guru on Bluetooth is "kiu'

The only other alternative I can think of that may give you ideas is
software that runs on your mobile phone that allows connection to your
pc and allows the pc to control the mobile phone.

Windows Mobile Phone - Remote Activation

Like I said earlier. Whatever you try, depends on how experienced you are with mobile phone software and communication.

The simplest solution may be a battery charger for your phone.

Good Luck,

no... the script runs locally on the device. I just want a simple script just to turn on both the Bluetooth adapter and the Wifi adapter. No remote activation or remote commands

so are you using Autohotkey for Pocket PCs / WinCE?
If yes, you should consider posting your question in this thread: http://www.autohotkey.com/forum/topic27146.html .
"Windows Mobile" handling is not the same as "Windows" handling, solutions can differ.

Use this software: http://www.vijay555.com/?Releases:VJVolubilis
Along with AutohotkeyCE.

You could probably create a script that will be in the startup folder of your PPC, and will start the program with necessary parameters.

If you need help, let me know (might have to PM me as sometimes I don't search through the new posts thoroughly enough and miss alot of the replies to my posts).
