Maybe a mistake in the docs, or I misunderstand s.th but in the documentation for WinHide is written
Quote:
Use WinShow to unhide a hidden window (DetectHiddenWindows need not be ON to do this).

On the other hand the docs about WinShow say:
Quote:
By default, WinShow is the only command that can always detect hidden windows. Other commands can detect them only if DetectHiddenWindows has been turned on.

What now? Do I have to switch DetectHiddenWindows to on or not?

Sorry.

I must apologize for this. I overread the little word 'not' in
Quote:
DetectHiddenWindows need not be ON to do this

So obviously all makes sense.

I read so many commands where everywhere was written (DetectHiddenWindows needs to be ON ...) that I didn't read this sentence very accurately in the WinShow command. I don't know why, but I just expected this sentence to be the same as in all other commands.
Let's say it was an optical illusion to me. ;)

perhaps the documentation should read
Code:
Quote:
DetectHiddenWindows need NOT be ON to do this
for clarity

I know the wording can make it easy to misread things. When reading, I also miss the word "not" often. In that sense, I think contractions like "doesn't" are better because the apostrophe makes the word stand out more. But since contractions are generally avoided in formal documenation, I reworded it to be, "DetectHiddenWindows can be either On or Off to do this."
