Is it possible to emulate "a drag and drop action of a file from Windows Explorer to a given applications specific window coordinates"?

My idea is to copy that file* into the Clipboard, then move the mouse over any applications area, then press a hotkey, which should then do the same as if I would drag the file in the Clipboard from Windows Explorer to that application area. Any tips? I know already how to get one or multiple files into the Clipboard which I can also paste using Ctrl-v where pasting is possible. But sometimes or in some applications pasting is not possible and you have to drag and drop there, I would like to have a solution also for those.


*: in my case those would be .mid or .wav files, meaning musical files
