I am going to be backing up Titan on this one, since he has helped me out quite a lot in the past.

Also, he is probably too busy...

If you want it point-by-point, that sounds reasonable.
...thank you Tyrsius, that was much more helpful than what Titan did...
- You start a post with an ellipsis.
...yes, when leading into text from something else, like a quote or list, I use ellipses at the beginning to lead into my text & at the end to lead out of my text & into the next thing...
- You continue with information in parentheses which you further seperate from the comment with text in curly brackets.
...yes, OK, so? I put sub-comments in parens & sub-sub-comments in braces...
- You move on with a comma after only two words (excluding your parentheses).
3 words (or 4 counting "&")...but, OK, maybe that comma is unnecessary, but really, is it that bad?
- Use of second ellipsis, which is as misplaced as the first
This ellipsis is not misplaced at all, notice it has a space after it, so it's not one of my "normal" ellipses. This ellipsis is there cuz the "Tools -> Options..." menu item has an ellipsis after it, so I include it in the instructions of what to click...
- Use of a third ellipsis which is actually harmful to the understanding of your thought as you place it just before the word "button" despite its attachment to the previous phrase. This is debatably your worst offence.
This is the same as 4, the actual button you need to click is "Delete Files..." it has an ellipsis, so I include it in the instructions...
- A second misplaced comma
I think this comma is called for...it's separating the 1st part of the instructions from the 2nd part
- Lack of punctuation between your thought and the "Yes/No Dialog"
If you mean "click that button you have a Yes/No dialog"...then that should probably be "click that button & you'll get a Yes/No dialog"...that is only a typo, not intentional...
- A fourth ellipsis
I love ellipses!...this one is separating all of the above, one continuous thought, from the questions that follow...
- A question mark immediatly followed by a fifth ellipsis
Ending the 1st question, branching off into a 2nd question

You used an ellipsis five times but never used a period.
...I love ellipses!...& some of my msgs do have periods, just not that one...
Tyrsius wrote:
With that one ellipsis that seperates the text of a button from the word "button" that tells you what you are actually talking about, I am surprised you could make sense of your own post.
...as explained above, my "real" ellipses never have a space following them, this one is the text on the button, granted, it should probably be written as 'there is a "Delete Files..." button' (with double quotes), to signify the ellipsis is part of the button text...

And seriously, stop using ellipses.
...I love them!...I can't stop using them...

Isn't that a tautology? Him thinking you are retarded because he thinks you are retarded?
...I have no idea, but that's what it sounded like he said...& my quote is "You think I'm really retarded, just cuz you think I am?"...so he thinks I'm actually retarded, just cuz he says/thinks I am...he thinks just because he speaks/says/thinks it, that it's true?

By the way, "benefit of the doubt" is a common english phrase.
...I know that, but how he used it is weird...what doubt do I not deserve the benefit of?
Tyrsius wrote:
It does not reference some specific doubt, so asking "what doubt" just makes you look a little lost.
...I guess I am lost in the way he used it...it sounds likes I don't deserve the "benefit of the doubt", that I'm not retarded...I think I deserve the benefit of that doubt, cuz I would imagine that few actually retarded people would understand computers, write AutoHotkey & post in forums. Also, I do believe the phrase "benefit of the doubt" does (always or most of the time), refer to some specific doubt...
