If you have no idea who the heck I am, or aren't interested in the German site and it's happenings, ignore this post. If you do, I'm back!! 8)
*Cue the thunderous applause*

First off, I'm very sorry I haven't been around lately at the German forum. I see there've been some problems there; I hope they've been cleared up by now. I 'm a full-time student now and, in truth, I'd forgotten about the wonderful site I hosted. I'm also not very proficient in administrating dynamic websites. So, once again, I'm sorry for the awkward situation, but there isn't much to be done about it, as things stand.

Secondly, I'm learning C/C++ this semester (Yes, I'm in college now). Come January, I might be able to rejoin the AutoHotkey community as a developer. With this in mind, and considering that AutoHotkey has already done much for me, I'd like to continue hosting the site as my way of contributing to this project for now. If someone else wishes to administrate the site, that would be great, but it seems to be doing decent as it is.

And finally, what's been happening in the past few months? I must've missed a lot.

@ Thalon, AGU, toralf, ...

@ Chris
are you able to check/administrate the German Forum? The initial page (index.php) is blocked after an attack, and it looks like we're not able to get jonny ... to solve it.

I've e-mailed Jonny, but I think he's too busy at school to respond.

I do have access to the server, but unfortunately I think the only way to restore the old forum would be to restore a database backup from before the attack. This would require someone to contact the hosting company, which I think can only be done by the authorized owner of the domain.

As a last resort, I could probably reset the forum to an empty state and upgrade it to the latest version to prevent further attacks. However, that might result in the loss of all the old posts because restoring the backup later (after new posts have started to go in) might be too difficult because it would require two forums to be "merged".

I'm very, very sorry that I let this happen; Yes, I do remember receiving a PM from a vigilant German AHKer (I believe it was AGU) alerting me that the forum was out of date. Like many other things, I forgot about this. I have indeed been quite busy, but I promise I will look into solving this dilemma by toworrow at the very latest. If nothing else, I will temporarily entrust my host's password to someone willing to deal with the nitty-gritty (I may actually have to, knowing nothing of phpbb).

I will also make plans for setting up a volunteer admin. I certainly do not want to pressure anyone, so it will be purely voluntary, but if someone capable and trustworthy feels that they have the time, I would love a helping hand.
