Hi, I want to be able to control wich shortcuts are visible in the Windows 7 taskbar. To make this I've found that they are located in the folder

"C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar"

Once I delete or add any shortcut from there, it isn't inmediatelly updated from the taskbar. It updates only if I restart the explorer.exe process.

Anyone knows how to make it refresh without restarting explorer?

Thanks

scrolling mouse along taskbar will refresh all icons it touches. you could probably do that without a user noticing

sorry you misunderstood, i meant putting the mouse on each icon, like dragging your mouse through all the icons,

He's talking about pinned taskbar items, not the tray icons. I don't have any specific ideas, but the control class for the taskbar seems to be MSTaskListWClass. Lots of Windows 7 stuff is undocumented, so you may not have much luck...
