My point was an assumption based on the recent announcements. Google Trends has some interesting stats.

Out of curiousity, what is the site viewership like? I'd be interested to know how many unique visitors it gets per day, average number of posts per day, and anything about new versus repeat visitors say from week to week or month to month. Chris, can you post whatever stats are collected?
Unique visitors were about 308000 in September. Last year in September had about 281000.

The forum's index was accessed about 125000 times in September, and the previous September was about 129000.

I don't have any stats at hand for repeat visitors. The average number of posts per day could probably be determined by writing a SQL query against the posts table. But I suspect it hasn't varied too much in the past year or two.

Of course there's a limit to how many people are interested using some kind of automation software, especially a product that has more of a learning curve than a GUI-oriented macro program.

since Chris has stopped development we could save space on the forum by moving all threads in Developers to Wish List and renaming that section to Suggestions.
It's an interesting idea. However, that would make it more difficult for developers to have a place of their own in the future should they ever want one. That is why I was just going to open it to the public and hide it from the list of forums. If anyone would like something different, feel free to create a new poll.

I don't see the point of having a Moderator section, we've managed for years without one and activity on the site doesn't appear to be increasing.
Since the Moderator section is seen only by moderators, it won't be a distraction for the public; so I didn't see any harm in creating one. It might never get used, but at least it's there in case of need.

By the way, if anyone who voted No in this poll has specific content here they don't want to be made public, please let me know.

Dear Mr.Chris,

This forum section is accessible for general public, but not visible.
Are you planning to leave it hidden?

:)

Yes, that was the original plan. It is hidden because it's inactive. It's accessible in case anyone wants to use it in the future.

Hmm... I voted NO (even though the poll has ended).
If the Dev section made public, there will be a lot of Guests that posts useless question / bug / suggestion, that should be posted on the according section.
And eventually there'll be a lot of "Wrong Section Alert"
:D

Why not just leave it available as it is, but hidden.

Devs can bookmark it, and normal users of the site will never find it.
