compiling while on windows 7 fails alot. even when ahk2exe is set to compatibility mode and ran as administrator. Ive ran it through the gui through command line and through right clicking. It tends to fail alot. I also am not alone with this issue, atleast 4 others have reported the same issues while on other versions of windows 7 including pro, basic, and premium. 64 and 32 bit versions. I have no problem compiling if i go into my xp vm to compile. As far as I know all those who have had this issue are using basic ahk code.

If there is any other details you would like please let me know.

Also if anyone who reads this knows of any way of compiling that does not use ahk2exe or ahkcompile II which i think uses ahk2exe anyway, please let me know.

kookster out.

I've noticed that when i move the script file to a usb drive, it will compile more often than if i have it on my desktop.

this problem is also prevalent on windows 7 ultimate

I have this issue as well on my Windows 7 Professional 32-bit workstation. If I try to compile from my network drive (which always worked in XP), it fails 90% of the time. If I copy it to my local desktop, it fails only about 15-20% of the time. But this is still significantly higher than in XP.

I have had similar issues when I click on compile, however when I use the actual program for it, it works fine for me.

I had this problem, but it was fixed by reinstalling AHK.

Weird. I had Win7 Home Premium 64 and 32bit editions and haven't had any problems compiling.
But then again I'm not including an files within my script or fileinstalling any files either. Most I change is the icon for use within a dock.

Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but maybe it's a thought?

How about right clicking on ahk2exe and run with xp compatibility??
Dunno if that'd work as a bandaid for the time being.

(I'm running basic ahk).
