Have my posts been deleted? I'll insist again then. The forum should have the ability to close threads for solved topics, which will make it easier to find solutions and reduce repeated questions.

There was a guy who were working on the forum upgrade and seems to be unavailable now. I think the moderators should inform us the current progress of it so that we don't have to be frustrated by expecting and waiting for it.

I've split these posts from the Patterns thread in General Chat. One advantage of registration is that you can easily search for your own posts by author.
As to the current progress of the forum upgrade, as a moderator I haven’t a clue. That's one of the pitfalls of volunteer work: no schedule. Obviously the upgrade became much more difficult than it appeared: there’s always a risk it will never happen. An expert stepped in nearly a year ago, and as you see, the forum remains. I've wanted an upgrade for years, as it would benefit moderators more than the average user. For example, I could use an undo feature to get back the two posts that were lost in the process of splitting this thread.

A registered user can edit the post title to add [solved], some already do. A one click solution might make more registered users use it.

But guests can't edit their posts - rightfully so - and I don't see a safe method for guests to mark a thread as solved as that implies anybody could mark it solved which would make it vulnerable for abuse.

I doubt moderators will want to browse through threads and mark solved ones.
