I'd continue to eat food, breathe the air (hopefully) and drink water. Everything else is just marketing.

I'm one of the relatively few Americans that is able to survive without the economy.

I know how to hunt and gather food for myself and my family. I can grow crops to establish a more permanent food supply. My family owns land that is roughly an hour from the nearest city, and we have a cabin on it. We could survive a depression there without much discomfort. (Though a slight boredom due to no interwebz...but plenty of physical labor required to live to keep that in check)

I have land, animals. paid for home. but honestly with 7 billion people a little population reduction wouldnt be all bad. I know thats a very callus thing to say but we are quick approaching an unsustainable population

Yeah, we just need to erase the major consumers (US population) for to live at 10G on earth... Or do stupid thing like give water to desert...

I will grant you eliminating the european settlers(thieves) from the Americas and returning it to its rightfull owners would be a huge step in the right direction. but as far as countries with real population issues how bout china and or india. as far as the deserts go how bout moving out of them

Exactly That's why Mongolia can kill 4G people in 50 years if they build barrages... Or we can do like American with rivers without water when they arrived at ocean, just for have a golf in dessert or swimming pool or foodstuffs surplus... wait and see

Along those lines: People in prison and jail
Atleast in the USA, the prisons are over-populated.
So why not just take everyone on death-row and finish them off. same with people over a certain threshhold, such as anyone who has a sentence of 30 (random number) years or more. Obviously they did something bad let them "help out" the population. Or anyone who murdered someone (an eye for an eye?).

If the USA legalized the growing, processing, and sale of marijuana, California alone would provide enough economic activity to prevent a full-blown depression.

If the US gov't seized all of the illegal cannabis crops being grown on public land within the country and cultivated/sold it (at current market prices), the US would have a budget surplus of $200 Billion.
