I wonder if this could be integrated to http://cloud9ide.com/ as a plugin or something.

I use cloudide often and I dont think theyd integrate ahk support. But I use the same editor and I'm trying to emulate the style.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to handle linking to files. Should I set it up like a pastbin that can compile? Where it keeps the scripts?

Wow!! Great idea, and very good work, Octal! I like it very much.

My first wish would be syntax highlighting, as you say. Unfortunately, I can't write a single line of html or Javascript, so I can't help. I only know AHK, hehe.

Another suggestion: it would be nice if there were some way that users could be sure this was trustworthy. As it is, you go to a site and open an .exe file, hmm... I mean, I trust you; but the first time I saw Cloud AHK, before reading this thread, I wasn't sure. If it could be moved to the Autohotkey.com domain, that would help. Some other security measures to make sure it can't be hacked or cross-scripted would be nice too; but perhaps that is something for the farther future. Keep up the great work!

Thought of an idea to help ease people minds from downloading random .exe's.

Search for certain keywords/keyphrases, such as Delete or FileDelete. Then show the code from 3 lines above and 3 lines below. So if FileDelete was on line 20, you could show a little "potential threats" box (on the side? at the bottom?) on the page showing all lines 17-23 (and possibly highlighting the threat word(s))
ofcourse, there might be more then 1 word matched, so show them all :)

The user could then decide if they want to continue to download or not.

to avoid clutter of the page, I was thinking an Accordion Control. the header could be the line or word detected, then expand that section to show the surrounding code.

Yeah. Well usually it should be you who is writing and downloading the exes. But if I do the pastbin like thing, I could totally show like, the permissions.

Like android does.

This exe
Deletes files
Moves windows
Has hotkeys
Captures keystrokes
Accesses the Internet.
Stuff like that. Not a bad idea.

I'm trying to access the website at work, but it never loads... I'm not sure if it's the server, or if something is being blocked by website filter used by my workplace. I'll try it again when I get home. This sounds like a really great idea!!

Personally I think the best way to handle "security" issues is to make it, like you said, "a pastebin that compiles." A link to the cloudahk site would be like a link to paste.autohotkey.net, but with a "compile" button on the side.
