 Post subject: DOS Command
PostPosted: May 19th, 2008, 1:48 pm
Hi there,
This is not AHK related but I've got the following question:
1. Executing a DOS command or a batch file for the first time after PC start/reboot takes a long time to complete.
2. Executing the same DOS command or a batch file right after the first one is blazing fast.
Why is the first run taking that much time compared to the second one?
Is there any sort of checking going on regarding the date of the files/folders when launched for the first time :?
Any help please? Thanks.

I am not an expert on the subject, but I have noticed this behavior.
In fact, this is true not only for dos commands.

If you run a program, it will usually load faster the second time.

My guess is that it is related to the disk caching.
But its a guess and not an informed statement.

Was hoping for more input from the community though ....
So you reckon it's quite normal then?
