Camembert. This program allows you to display and view web cams on your desktop. The main window displays a list of URLs of cams, and allows you to open other windows to view them. You can have as many cam windows open as you like, at normal size or as thumbnails. Each window displays its own cam and is independently configurable with properties that define the location of the cam, the update interval and a history control so you can view previous images in sequence.

AMCap is a small yet fully functional video capture application compatible with Microsoft DirectShow (formerly ActiveMovie, hence the name). It is based on the sample AMCap source code from the Microsoft DirectX 9 SDK. I added many features that I was requested, including:
still capture (Ctrl+L) in BMP, JPEG and PNG
support for compression (Windows Media 9 Series only)
remember Video Input, Video Standard and Video size from previous session
full screen mode (ALT+Enter)
support for multi-monitor (using VMR9)
caption bar and menu on/off (F11)
always on top feature (F12)

The VMR9 option enables support for the multi-monitor, zooming, aspect ratio and deinterlacing features (Microsoft DirectX 9.0 required.)

Webcam software with built in Motion Detection, Web Server and FTP Upload

WebCam2000 (WC2K) is an Open Source program for serving live still pictures on the Internet. It can serve the picture as a JPEG image or a bitmap file and can be used as a standalone web server or as the backend to a CGI script. This version of WC2K requires:
Windows 95, 98, Me!, NT 4.0, 2000, or XP
a Video for Windows capture device and camera
a live internet connection such as a cable modem or DSL connection. Dial-up will work also. Unlike some other picture server programs, WC2K does not take pictures at intervals and upload them to an FTP server. It serves the images live as users request them. Therefore your computer must be online for WC2K to be able to serve pictures. WC2K still runs if you are not connected to the internet, but nobody will be able to reach it.

Dorgem is a webcam capture application for Windows 9x and up. Any Video for Windows compatible webcam (or other digital camera) is supported.

It has unlimited storage events that can put the captured image on an FTP site as well as a local disk, all with their own time interval. It can put a unlimited texts and bitmaps on the captured image before the image is stored.

Dorgem supports an unlimited number of simultaneous cameras. It has a built-in webserver for still images and can be used as security camera because of its motion detection.

An application to post jpeg images to a web site via FTP or to any UNC filename from any Video for Windows device you may have installed on your computer.

You are allowed to include the source code in any product (commercial, shareware, freeware or otherwise) when your product is released in binary form.

You are allowed to modify the source code in any way you want except you cannot modify the copyright details at the top of each module.

If you want to distribute source code with your application, then you are only allowed to distribute versions released by the author. This is to maintain a single distribution point for the source code.
