I just wanted to remind everyone about Firefox Download Day 2008, the date has been announced...
    Tue, Jun 17, 2008 --- 6/17/08
...here's a banner/sig with a countdown for it...
...here's the code for a condensed version for sigs (255 bytes!)...

Code:
[b][url=http://r.secsrv.net/FFd][img]http://r.secsrv.net/FF.png[/img][/url]
[url=http://r.secsrv.net/FF][co[color=x]lor=blue]Firefox.com[/url] • Download Firefox (click image!) • [url=http://r.secsrv.net/FFb][co[color=x]lor=blue]Blog[/url][/b]

...download on that date!...help set a record!...& get the best browser at the same time!

    23 hours 19 mins 19 secs left! (at the time I posted this {not a live countdown, like above})
Notes...
  • You must download the full installer...UPDATING DOES NOT COUNT!...but if you want, download the full installer (keep it or delete it), then just update (you don't need to USE the downloaded full installer if you don't want to {but you must download it, for it to count})...
  • My countdown is counting down to 6/17/08 12:00am, but I've heard the real start time as being 10am, 1pm & 2pm, if I ever find out which one is official, I will update the countdown (& the date shown)...

Firefox download day. :lol:
Maybe make it annual. :lol:
I'm not going to take part. Not only because I'm not going to use FF 3.0 now, but also I don't like when users post ads. Well, viral marketing works. :roll:

...people...other users on this forum, post topics like this in General Chat all the time, this is not "spam" per se & I would've posted under my registered username, but I'm still not logging in yet. This is a once time event, I'm a long term poster of actual forum posts & this is what General Chat is for...I would hate to ask...1) why you don't like Firefox (a real reason)...2) what browser you DO use?...& don't tell me IE (unsafe) or Opera (was payware & adware for a LONG time {I've never used Opera, not even once})...so the only thing left is Netscape/Firefox which are both from the same source code & both great...& BTW both FREE...(I cannot believe Opera tried & succeeded in charging for a browser!)...

You missed lynx. :lol:
I use Firefox. It's not that I dislike this browser (or 3.0, I'm not moving because of currently too low addon compatibility), it's about marketing.

...agreed, I'm "not moving on" either, I'm not 100% sure I will install it on download day, but I will download it...I will install it sometime, but I will use 2.0 until the addons catch up...also the author of FOXSCAPE is MIA so I anticipate having to do that myself...& I can't use Firefox unless it looks like Netscape 4...

...lol...mac's by themself, let alone their browsers, don't count...:puke:...now I'm not praising Windows either, Windows has issues with insecurity & drm, but mac's just utterly blow (the interface, the "top of screen" menubar, the "omg I just found my 2nd mouse button, like 2 weeks ago"...now all that blue is pretty, but that's about it)...the Windows "look & feel" is great, if it just wasn't from Microsoft...ReactOS anyone?...

Hmm...
So what if Opera was shareware? It's free now. Free Download Manager was spyware-ridden. I don't like that, but it's clean now, and it's the only one that works well for me (Leechget free version now has a ridiculous 1 download at a time limit, and if I want to pause the download and add another...tough tit).
I'll download FF 3 on download day. I'll install it. I may even make it my default browser. But I won't be happy until I get the Portable version. As for right now, I'm using Opera. :)
