this could be done extremely easily. All we would have to do is decide on an irc server to use and then everyone could meet in there. Nobody likes using those awful java chat clients anyway :P

A popular one is Freenode, and that's also one I'm usually on. If anyone else is interested, get an irc client and connect to irc.freenode.net, channel #autohotkey.

Hi,

I don't use an irc client yet. What is your favour?

NiWi.

I use chatzilla which is an extension for firefox. It's the only one I've tried so I can compare it to any other one.

i use Trillian for sctrictly chatting, but if i wanna do more nefarious things like downloading files and such i use mIRC.

I'll have to check out chatzilla, sounds interesting, and I'm always for things firefox related.

I know we all think java clients suck, but I have seen a few good ones. I know one that mocked yahoo. If I could only recall where i saw that... Anyway I think a java chat may be the best bet. That way no one has to use a specific client, or install a client. or stumbe across this thread to find out what sever everyone (if anyone) is chatting with about ahk. A site based java chat could be as close at a link next to FAQ and Search at the top of every screen. My two cents.

I agree there should still be a java client for the people who maybe can't open or install an irc client at the pc they are currently at. But I also think we should list the server information for the people who prefer not to use the java client.

Why not simply using Skype for communication?

Chris can add a field in the profile so that anybody can enter
its skype-number or skype-nick.

So people (even more than two) can talk or chat.
