Well, clearly, with so many highly regarded people, contesting what I thought was as simple as sliced bread inidicates to me I must be wrong.

It had seem to me, that it is intuitive for humans to experiment, try, flodder, and ask god-awful questions first. Then if they like it, get the bug, study the hell out of the manual.

But if you can get people to read the manual first, and experiment second, well I will eat crow, and wish you good luck.
Go get your self a plate
i did

I started out with the manual and trying to answer ask for help questions straight from the manual

The phrase "read the manual or faq" was used in 2005. If it worked then, then there should be no need to repeat it.

Parents have been telling their kids "Don't pick your nose!" for decades if not centuries. I suppose picking their nose for them is the solution?
bravo

what so many people like children fail to realize is this

Those that they are demanding answers from at some point did the same and were given the same answers.... Why.... because many of us who are now grown know the truth. we in fact did have to slow down and understand even the things we in ignorance felt irrelivant before we couldcreate our own works. we are in fact asking you to read and write before building a clock

Well, we want to help you learn the AHK language, not write the script for you. If we were to just write a script to just tell you exactly what to do and everything and do it for you, what would you learn from that? We provide you with enough information to be able to learn how to do it yourself.

I believe the topic of the forum is "Ask for Help", not "Do This For Me".

Actually, one should not expect to gain hocus-pocus solutions for any issue related to hotkey. Therefore no one should blame o forum related to these issues. And one should read FAQ first, b4 actually posting. Hey it took me more than 4 hours of reading 8)
I find this forum very informative.

Give a man a fish and he'll eat it and come back tomorrow for another one.
Teach a man to fish and he'll be able to feed his family by himself.

This same principle applies to programming, AHK or other languages.
I've been in development (aka programming) for 15 years, and the only way I learned, in the beginning, was to ask questions... BUT... woe was me if I didn't show some acumen and explain what I had tried first.

I expect the same from newbies as was expected of me. If you want to learn, please try first, and if you fail, then as your question with your code in hand. On the other hand, if you don't fail, well... you've just pleasantly surprised yourself.

Respec... aye ;-)
