I could go on and give all the reasons, but whatever - I just hope the syntax is tightened in up a future edition (which will also make it easier to learn, and hence this thread would never exist).

So instead of being critical, why not offer assistance to the developers or guru-members and take AHK in a 'better' direction? Or spend 10 minutes and type out a few reasons/ideas.

Something you post, could spawn an idea that turns into something great like iWeb recorder, COM, AHK_L/U, or any of the amazing things found on the forums.

It is bad syntax to you becuase you have a large sample to compare it to, 12 languages is 12 syntax.

Most of us only know/use AHK becuase the syntax is actually 'easy' for inexperienced people, and the ones with more experience typically only utilize JS, C/C++ pearl/python type languages.

Well I firstly have to apologise for not knowing much about AHK's history or any of its development team. For that reason, I didn't bother giving specific critique as I guessed that (as with most systems and organizations I've talked with) they wouldn't be in the least bit interested in changing things.

If change really were a possibility, I'll gladly post my ideas in a new thread. I forewarn you that some of my advice would break backwards compatibility.
