I'm trying to figure out a way to monitor an item in the system tray
so an alert can be sounded when it disappears.

More specifically:
I use the VyprVPN service and occasionally that connection is lost.
I want to write a script that alerts me to that condition. I've not been
able to detect any executables or services tied to VyprVPN; and there
are no hidden windows associated with it that can be detected.

When VyprVPN is active, it does place an icon in the system tray
(which is a pair of computer screens representing the network connection).
When the mouse pointer is held over the tray icon, it does show the label
''VyprVPN"; but I haven't been able to figure out how to detect the loss of
that icon or the text assigned to it.

Any suggestions on how to accomplish that would be greatly appreciated....

Thanks.

Larry
