He's won the "Most prefered scripting language award" and decided to retire  Once in a while he sends us a postcard from Hawaii (or one of his other mansions around the world) 8)

Hehe, nice pic. ^_^

I'm also a bit worried about thats going on with Chris and it's been a "long" time since AHK was updated last time...
If there are some financial problems or that sort of thing, i would gladly help with donation.

Why should he post? Are there any bugs that have been found? Are there any major features AHK is lacking? Well he's laying his weary head to rest. He won't cry no more. So beat it.

BTW, i'm thinking of working in song references to my posts. Was that bit too blatant and pathetic?

That'd be funny if the OP was actually Chris.

There have been an enormous amount of potential changes since the last update. Lexikos introduced true arrays and objects into his AHK build and another user introduced Unicode support into an AHK build (which Lexikos absorbed into his build). These two items are among the most requested AHK features and represent quite a bit of work all on their own. And aside of that, fincs is working on full support for 64-bit machines and Sean is working on native COM handling. In total these all represent a massive amount of changes due to come for the official AHK release, and Chris already had a list of changes he planned to work on!

This also ignores the fact that he probably has other projects that actually pay his bills that require his attention. My guess he won't really be around until he's ready to issue the next update, then you won't be able to get rid of him for about three months.

Not necessarily. For one thing, the more involved he gets in the forums the less time he has to work on other things (like an update), but I have no doubt that he lurks quite a bit. For another there are an abundance of people here who are not only adept at troubleshooting what people perceive as bugs, but who also work intimately enough with AHK's source code to know where and what to look for if normal troubleshooting steps don't seem to resolve it. If a fix is important enough, Lexikos will on occasion update his own build with a fix to a problem in a short amount of time (you should really check out Lexikos' AutoHotkey_L if you haven't had a chance to already; much of his work will influence the future of AHK).

But if you've read through the Bug Reports section you'll see that there aren't really a lot of bugs in those threads. In most cases a user failed to read the manual, which would've told them what command actually works or what the limitations of a certain command are.
