| CNET generates a ton of traffic compared to other software sites. I suspect it's by far the largest download site on the net. |

To have control over what's displayed, you have to subscribe to a silver or gold plan, which is a relatively high monthly cost.
However, CNET links users to a generic Installer on the AHK site; in other words, downloaders will wind up with the latest version even if they get it from CNET. |

well its fine but i still feel one wud be misled into thinking that this link is old (or maybe never updated). i wud've felt so myself had u not told me the reality. maybe removing the version number or replacing it with something else might be better.... like AutoHotKey (Latest Version)
but i don't think a change will be possible ...right? _________________

| That's right it's very restrictive. They required an actual version number and release date at the time of the listing. If you want to update your listing, you have to pay $80 each time unless you subscribe to a monthly plan, which is even more expensive. |

A popularity graph or download counter would be pretty sweet. I keep pimping AHK at the forums I post on and at school . |

It's definitely grown in popularity, in a large part due to promotion by you and others. Since downloads are hosted off several servers (Road Runner, CNET, and the site's own hosting provider), I don't track the total amount.
To get some statistics, you could visit its page at CNET, which tracks how many weekly and total downloads there have been (CNET is by far the most popular software site that I know of). You can also view how many new posts there have been on the forum since your last visit (if you have a forum username), which gives some idea of overall interest. |
