Good idea, I really like it.

But anyone who uses this can talk to anyone else using at whenever? Or is this just a two person thing?

Ok ill explain, it uses a text file (for now) So the people using the client can access the chat.txt file then every 4 seconds or so it will check for new text within the chat.txt file if there is new text it will add it to the listview.

thanks to titan for giving me the idea to use listbox.

And if you use like it is you will be chatting with everyone who got this unless you change the chat.txt file to a diffrent name because its on my FTp as i stated above.

Good luck using.

Sorry about the psot where we last met i totally misunderstood accept my apologies.

Oh no it's fine. But I have an idea. Make a box with a list of all the people online. But only sign someone in when they specify a username. IF you can do that it would save a great deal waiting 5 minutes for someone to respond.

so when you create a userlist.txt or something on the server,
you could assign an individual textfile per user.
this would reduce the "messup" with "near same time" uploads to the time
the userlist ist updated.
Plus You could use several "open" userlists to create dynamic channels which everyone with serveraccess can join.

Nice script... I like it! Smile

Appending a time stamp to the username in the display would be nice.

I noticed that too. But then I exited out of it and then got back in and the same guy replied with the same comment. "Hell odude." It is an auto-response I am pretty sure.

Sorry, could you make the whole renaming chat.txt files a little more clear?

Ps. Why dont you have the script save the recieved messages in the temp folder rather than the windows directory?
