Is there a chatroom for AHK? (What protocol?) If not, will there ever be? It's just that sometimes things are easier to discuss on an instant protocol rather than email-style on these forums, and it doesn't seem like many peops here have AIM.

Chatrooms/IM are most excellent. Bodacious too. Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool

I like the forums, not sure about a chatroom but an addition like that would be welcome.

Should the negatory version of that statement ever be made public, the utterer shall be burned. What I meant was IN ADDITION to the forum.

I guess if AHK reaches the level (> 1000 members) of another quite popular scripting tool (eh, can't remember its name Laughing ), you'll have the basis to provide a chat. It could be a l'ill anoying to sit and wait if someone pops up, and if left alone is getting closer and closer to commit suicide Rolling Eyes , but maybe I'm wrong. Very Happy

It's not that there aren't enough interest to get one, but I think there's an US/EMEA timezone issue as well. So you need a foundation of people which are awake at the same time to chat Wink

OTOH I think there are several free chat options around. Open a chat and provide a (sticky) link to it. Once it makes sense to merge it with the forum it's up to Chris if he wanna manage/observe it (there are legal issues to cover, I guess) or wanna share that task with a bunch of worldwide moderators.

Cool

Yea, what Bobo said.
The time differences could make chat obsolete because there may only be 1-2 people on at a time, but lol I'm an insomniac so should Chris add this I'll be on for US time heh :/

Ps, BoBo why are you still a Guest lol? Ever heard of Registring?

I don't think an on-site chatroom would get much usage at this stage (maybe in the the future). However, if anyone wants to create a channel on IRC or elsewhere, feel free to do so, and to post the connection info here.

yes i think chat would be cool but i agree with bobo the time differences would be way off and i think it would hurt everybody rather then do good
at least we can leave msgs on the forum
i'm not sure about just how the times are set but i do know when its 2 am here in UT (usa) its sometime in the day over seas ? Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
so if it was chat or forum i'd have to say forum Cool Cool Laughing Twisted Evil

Welcome to flooble's chatterbox, a free service that lets you jazz up any web page by adding a chatterbox where your visitors can talk to each other. Chatterbox does not require any special features from your hosting provider, and will work with any hosting plan, including the free hosting ones. If you can edit the html code of your page, you can insert the chatterbox into it!

Flooble chatterbox works as a javascript include, which means that there is no additional strain on your server, and that it can be added to a page by simply inserting one block of HTML where you want the chatterbox to appear. We give you the code, you just paste it in. Nothing could be simpler.

Did you know?... You can configure chatterbox to be a sidebar panel if you use Netscape 6, Opera 6 or Mozilla as your web browser. Just click the edit link at the top of this page, and log in. You will see the simple instructions on the edit page.

You can see chatterbox in action right here on the right of the page. It's also visible on many weblogs, Xanga pages, diaries and other personal pages all over the internet!

Well, now that you know what flooble chatterbox is, go on and [sign up] to get yours free!

Get it ! Wink

I think the forum is enough for now, but I'll keep it in mind for the future. Of course, anyone else can set up a chat room/site if they want.

Would anyone else be interested if I set up the chatroom? Assuming I can get it working, of course. Laughing

ATTENTION! CHATROOM IS UP AND WORKING!!!

http://s89775182.onlinehome.us/chat.html

But also bad news... I just found out my hosting package (free Smile ) will expire at the end of this month. Crying or Very sad So enjoy it while you can!

Note: To verify you're an ahk member from this forum, include AHK_ before your nickname. Otherwise you get the boot. Razz This also helps with name ambiguity problems.

This is far too disorganized and far too few people are interested in it for it to work. Sad
