Create/modify the DWORD entry StatusBar and set its value to 1 at the following REG path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Notepad

With the next reboot Notepad will/should provide the current line and column pos.



btw: hacking the REG needs same basic understanding what to do. Use the above at your own risk.

Checked it with XP which was fine. W2K hasn't made it.

Anyone has the same experience ?

In XP at least, you can do View>Status bar in Notepad's menu, and it remembers it for the next time.
