- Support for multiple file browsers; Opus, Commander, ExplorerXP, xplorer˛, etc.
- A Gui for viewing and searching the database, and configuring various aspects of MyNotes.
- Option for tooltip at mouse location (or x0, y0) instead of Traytip. Tooltip also isn't limited to 255 chars, so you can see the entire note.
- Option to configure corner to zip mouse to.
- Make installation a little more verbose. I was surprised when MyNotes popped up in my start menu (and other stuff); very convenient, to be sure, but most apps give an option in the installation and/or tell you they're doing it.
I haven't thought of any more yet, but you can bet I'll post 'em if I do! And like I said, I'm already looking through the code and looking for ways to implement these things. |

I've been evaluating these suggestions... here's what i think
| Quote: | | Support for multiple file browsers; Opus, Commander, ExplorerXP, xplorer˛, etc. |
I can provide an external way of editing the window class name and the control class of the control to get current folder.
| Quote: | | A Gui for viewing and searching the database, and configuring various aspects of MyNotes. |
gui for viewing database? u mean the list of notes?... y?
and searching already has gui!
for configuring yes, a gui is the way to go for, but till now there were no configurable aspects.
| Quote: | | Option for tooltip at mouse location (or x0, y0) instead of Traytip. Tooltip also isn't limited to 255 chars, so you can see the entire note. |
I prefer small notes to large ones... u might've noticed that I truncate the note read automatically from readme.txt file etc. to prevent flooding. but still, if bigger notes is preferable then tooltip it is!
| Quote: | | Option to configure corner to zip mouse to. |
easy change.
| Quote: | | Make installation a little more verbose. |
easy change again. anything else u think that should be added?... besides asking for installation folder which i also plan to add. _________________

Yes, one more thing: Support for folders that have a definite path, but don't show it in the address bar. For instance, I often use the desktop (shows up in address bar as "Desktop"), but find it annoying that I have to go to C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Desktop for MyNotes to be able to search in it. The only other folder like this I can think of is "My Documents" right now, but there might be others. One possible problem I can think before I even look at code implementations is that the desktop and my documents folders' paths vary with different users.
For the Gui, I meant something that let you actually view all the notes, possibly in table format with the file on one column, and the note in another. The search inputbox could be at the bottom. This could be useful because I (and maybe others) prefer manual browsing to keyword searching. Also, that way, you can look through the notes rather than the files, which might be useful at times. Also, it'd give the notes a more concrete form (without having to go to the file). |

MyNotes 2.6
Changes:
- Advanced File Search : If the file to which a note is attached is not found at its original location, MyNotes can search for the file based on its contents at user defined location. This search can find the file even if its renamed.
- Installation now asks for Destination Folder.
- Installation now optionally creates Start Menu icons.
p.s. Jonny, I know i've not been able to add most of the nice suggestions by you, but i'll try to do that soon...thanx! _________________

After (almost) 3 years of break nDroid and this: http://www.codenite.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=174&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a might bring MyNotes 2.6 back alive maybe?
I installed MyNotes 2.6 quite long time ago, shortly tested it, it was working nicely. But as I couldn't see clearly how I should benefit from these notes in a bigger picture in practice I didn't continue adding notes through this interface. (But I was still using other tools to add notes on different things/topics. Just not in MyNotes. What I used? e.g. this: http://www.windsorinterfaces.com/notelens-download.shtml)
The linking of nDroid to MyNotes might bring new areas of application of these MyNotes. (As NoteLens allows external files to include one could simply include there also MyNotes.ini to it's file list and profit from NoteLens' indexing features.) |

NoteLens looks like a nice app, and its ActiveSync support especially attracts me. but this is a different tool and has different goals compared to MyNotes. While NoteLens is a general purpose note-taking app, MyNotes was to add a tag to a virtual file (like you'd do to a real file's cover on your desk). _________________

(NoteLens has many great features. What I don't like there mainly is that it uses the "category approach". I would much more prefer the more relaxed "tag approach" without caring where to put them in the category tree hierarchy.) |

hey,
what should i do, if i did not see the bubble?
I have tested the shortcut Win+Q, but this doesn`t work.
If i search the file, than the note correctly appear. |

There's somewhere a setting in windows which disables the Traytip, please check if that's the cause. _________________
