Just for your information Chris,

the forum seems to be rather slow here (20:22 ECT). The german forum even reported a timeout error.

Confirmed. The amount of time taken to connect makes the forum almost completely unusable here for a few minutes at a time. Sometimes it times out and gives not found errors. Sometimes the page only partially loads (not all images or sections load). During this time I can connect to other sites on the internet without any issues.

Same here with me, Grumpy. Sometimes timeout, sometimes slow loading, sometimes partially loading.

21:40 EST

I translated EST to "European Standard Time" but that's wrong. Embarassed
Of course I meant CET (Central European Time). Sorry.

Grumpy: I am confused... who's on first? Are you corrupt or Avatar or the old Grumpy-guest?

I understand that this nick fits you well, still the guest Grumpy had valuable contribution to the Forum. Now his notes will be attributed to you and he got cut off from the Forum under his established identity. You should unregister, to let the old Grumpy post as before. We had this controversy earlier with BoBo.

While I am not suggesting anything, but I think renaming the nick in one's profile would be sufficient.

Yesterday and today there appeared to be an overloaded router somewhere on the Internet close to the site's server. There were occasional bursts of high packet loss for a majority of visitors.

The problem was reported and has hopefully been resolved. But I'll be keeping an eye on it.

The person that used that nick caused me to be this grumpy in the first place so I have no sympathy and I do not currently intend to release the nick. Perhaps people using aliases shouldn't intentionally try to annoy other users while hiding behind unregistered, unknown identities...

Btw, I was in favour of BoBo being able to keep the unregistered nick. If my guess as to BoBo's identity is correct though, that was going to happen anyway...
